Terms of Service

heybudget is operated by Sunup Studios ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of heybudget at heybudget.app.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using heybudget, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@heybudget.app if you think someone else has access to it.

3. Piggy banks and members

A piggy bank is the shared space where accounts, budgets and goals live. The person who creates it is its owner. The owner can invite others, and everyone who joins sees the piggy bank's shared accounts, budgets and goals. Accounts a member marks private are visible only to that member.

Only invite people you're comfortable sharing that information with. The owner is responsible for the piggy bank's plan and billing.

4. Your information is yours

You own the information you put into heybudget. You give us permission to store and process it only so we can run the service for you. heybudget does not connect to your bank and never asks for your banking password.

heybudget helps you organise your own records. It is not financial, tax or legal advice.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use heybudget to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or interfere with the service or other people's use of it.

6. Plans, trials and billing

Every new piggy bank starts with a free 30-day trial of the Couple plan. No card is needed, and nothing is charged when it ends: the piggy bank moves to the Free plan unless the owner chooses a paid plan.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, until cancelled. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record, which also handles sales tax. If a plan is cancelled or a payment fails, the piggy bank moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: anything past the Free plan's limits stays visible, read-only. 7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Profile. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

8. No warranty

heybudget is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Please keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sunup Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of heybudget.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let account owners know by email.
